Beneficiaries: Refugees, asylum-seekers and Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection.
General objective: To support and empower refugee communities on their path to adaptation and integration in Bulgaria. To ensure their equal access to rights and opportunities for a decent life, health, and well-being. To encourage them to develop their full potential as active members of our society.
Activities:
- Analyses: Research on individual needs and attitudes toward community programs and services; research on the needs of refugee-led organizations, in order to map leadership and structures.
- Trainings: Identification and training of community volunteers; development of standard procedures for access to services; organization of adaptation and civic orientation programs; training and methodological support for refugee-led organizations, including providing access to methodology and procedures for direct work and advocacy.
- Support: Working with vulnerable groups and ensuring access to health, educational, legal, and social services. Creation of community-based protection, including support for access to services, working with partner organizations, and support programs.
- Mentorship: Provision of a mentorship program to support refugee-led organizations, aimed at strengthening internal organizational systems. Development of standard operating procedures for access to activities.
Project Goals:
- Conduct research to assess the needs of refugees.
- Ensure access to public and medical services, legal assistance, and necessary documentation.
- Provide access to mental health services and emotional support.
- Create community mobilization and support for organizations working with refugees.
Focus: The project will address the specific needs of different refugee groups, striving to improve the processes of adaptation and integration and enabling them to be more active in the community. The goal is to gain a clear understanding of their situation, to encourage their empowerment and leadership, and to provide individual and appropriate support.
