In June 2026, the Refugee Women’s Council in Bulgaria launched the implementation of the “Health Without Borders for Children” project, funded by the Children’s Health Fund of the BCause Foundation.

The project aims to improve access to essential healthcare services for refugee children from vulnerable families by supporting timely preventive care, early diagnosis, and access to medical services.

Through the project, 150 children aged 0 to 14 and their families will receive support. The organization’s team will assist families with registration with general practitioners (GPs), scheduling appointments with medical specialists, access to mandatory immunizations and preventive health check-ups, as well as providing guidance and referrals to appropriate healthcare services.

As part of the project, a series of informational sessions for parents will also be organized, focusing on preventive healthcare and early diagnosis, healthy nutrition, children’s adaptation to kindergarten, and the promotion of an active lifestyle. These activities aim to strengthen parents’ knowledge and confidence in caring for their children’s health and well-being.

The project is being implemented between June and August 2026 and seeks to reduce barriers to healthcare access for refugee children and their families while promoting equal access to quality healthcare services.
