Project: “New Words – New Life / Bulgarian Language Training for Legally Residing Migrants”

Beneficiaries:
The project will reach approximately 160 direct participants – refugees and migrants, including around 120 women, 20 men and 20 children. Indirect beneficiaries will include members of their families and communities – approximately 150 people.
Overall Objective:
The project aims to support the linguistic and social integration of refugees and migrants in Bulgaria by reducing language barriers and creating real opportunities for participation in social life, education and the labour market.
Main Activities:
- Implementation of 8 Bulgarian language courses (60 hours each)
- 4 courses for adults (beginner and advanced levels)
- 4 courses for children
- Selection and inclusion of participants through partner organizations and refugee communities
- Organization of an information campaign and events to promote the project
- Monitoring participants’ progress through tests, surveys and evaluation tools
Expected Results:
- Improved language skills and increased confidence among participants
- Easier access to education, social services and the labour market
- Better social integration of refugees and migrants
- Promotion of intercultural dialogue and stronger connections between refugee and local communities.
The project is being implemented thanks to Lidl Bulgaria’s largest socially responsible initiative, “You and Lidl,” in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation and the Bulgarian Donors Forum.
