I am a mother

My name is Maria Motmaen, 32 years old, born in the city of Kabul, Afghanistan. I am a mother.

What made you leave your homeland?

I left the country out of necessity when the Taliban came to power.

Why did you choose Bulgaria?

Because I came to Bulgaria 6 years ago and I really wanted to come and become a refugee in Bulgaria again. I love the people and the culture.

What do borders mean to you?

Borders are just the real line of different geographical areas that separate countries. I think that there are different borders and areas all over the world, but people and humanity are the same, people are not different.

How do you want people who don’t know you to perceive you?

I would like at least if they don’t know me, to still understand in terms of humanity that I turned to their country to save my life and ask for help.

Help us by supporting our cause!

The need has faces, but no nationality. The manner of donation is as important as the act itself. Solidarity only makes sense when emotions are combined with reason and trust is not broken, but preserved and stimulated.
