Social worker

The Council of Refugee Women in Bulgaria is looking to hire a SOCIAL WORKER.

The position is related to practical support for applicants for protection and third-country nationals residing legally on the territory of Bulgaria within the project “Comprehensive integration support for legally resident third-country nationals”, contract № BG65AMNP001-2.005-0001-C01 /05.06.2019, funded by the Asylum, Integration and Migration Fund of the EU, implemented by Caritas Sofia and the Council of Refugee Women in Bulgaria.


  • Providing social consultations for the beneficiaries of the Association;
  • Preparation of social assessment / needs assessment, case work plan, case management, monitoring and follow-up of cases;
  • Teamwork with a cultural mediator;
  • Working with people in the field, informing about rights and obligations – social, medical, legal, educational, etc .;
  • Communication with state and municipal institutions (social, health and educational);
  • Research and targeting appropriate social services;
  • Making home visits;
  • Regular monitoring of the implementation of case work plans;
  • Preparation of a monthly report on the activities performed;
  • Participation in weekly meetings for case intervision;
  • Participation in group supervision.

REQUIREMENTS to the candidates:

  • Higher education, degree – specialist / “bachelor” / “master” in one of the following specialties: social activities / social pedagogy / psychology or others in the social sphere;
  • General professional experience of at least 3 years in direct work with children and families, with communities and vulnerable groups, in / or with the child protection system;
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is considered an advantage;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Experience in working with asylum seekers and migrants is an advantage;
  • Experience as a social worker in DSP and CPD is an advantage.
