Submitted by Dessi on Wed, 06/09/2021 - 12:30 Difficult access to health services due to the language barrier is one of the most serious problems for refugees and asylum seekers. They need specific support through translation, awareness raising and accompanying during theirs visits to health professionals. Thanks to the support provided by our social workers and cultural mediators, the quality of the social situation of refugees and asylum seekers is enhanced - they have easier access to the health system, while language and culture difficulties are minimized. The planned activities are part of the project "Comprehensive integration support for legally resident third country nationals", which we implement together with the team of Caritas Sofia. The project includes activities to improve access to social and health services, education, employment and integration into society.
