The number of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in our country is increasing. Last week, 36 children were found at the Turkish border. The children are between 12 and 17 years old. They come from Afghanistan and Syria. They are accommodated in the centers in "Ovcha Kupel" and "Voenna rampa" in Sofia, in the so-called Safety zones. There are currently about 100 children in both centers. Most of them, however, do not stay in Bulgaria. The children who stay in the country go to school and learn Bulgarian in order to be integrated in the host society.
